It was like stepping into Gatsby's dining room! At first I felt very out of place. This was not the trendy New York restaurant I was used to. I was afraid that I would be seen as someone who wasn't high class because I dressed as if I was going to a trendy restaurant rather then a very fancy one. I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful waiters who joked with us and made me feel like I was back home on the east coast. My food was amazing and I loved it so much that at the end, I felt beyond full. The desserts were also delightful! The sampler platter was gigantic! Overall it was a wonderful experience! If you want a Gatsby experience, you'll get one!

Great food, atmosphere and service, and all for a reasonable price for such an upscale place.

Very pretty restaurant. The service equals the decor. As you walk in, you are greeted by a piano player with music. Nice bar to wait in if your table isn't ready. We had a round table of 12 and was a great option for our family. The linens, silverware and plates were nice quality. White lights and flowers were a nice touch. The food was delicious. All of of us loved our choices. I had the duck and it was perfectly prepared. Served with marinated cabbage ( sounds bad, but it was good!) a bing cherry bread pudding cake. Portion size is large. My appetizer was amazing. Bacon wrapped dates. Others had various salads as appetizers. Other main courses were scallops, liver and onions, weiner schnitzel, and a seafood pasta. My only complaint is that the chairs are casual bistro style, and not comfortable at all.

PARTIAL REVIEW Drink: -Café L'Europe offers a fairly substantial International wine bible for bottles and about 40 or so varieties by the glass, most of which are sourced from California, France and Italy. While they don't have an official cocktail menu, their fully stocked bar can accommodate all of the American classics. -As we awaited the evening's menu, we started things off with an Old Fashioned for him, and a Mint Julep for myself. Old Fashioned Mint Julep We found both drinks to be a little on the watery side. The Old Fashioned suffered from too much crushed and therefore melting ice, while I found the Julep was just a bit too sweet. -We soon moved onto wine, which meant a glass of 2011 Dr. Loosen Mosel Riesling from Germany ($10.40), a half bottle of 2009 Plumpjack Cab Sauvignon from Napa ($95), and 2 oz of a '98 Chateau D'Yquem Sauternes from France ($60). Everything (especially our favourite dessert wine) was well enjoyed with the food. Food: -Café L'Europe's dinner menu features old school upscale cuisine inspired by various regions around the world. Think Wiener Schnitzel, Bacon Wrapped Dates, Spaghetti Bolognese, Lobster Risotto, Scottish Smoked Salmon and Sirloin Steak. It's bit of a mixed bag, but this way, there's always something for all of their worldly clients. From peaking at their regular menu, I can see that prices tend to run around $12.50-29.50 for an appetizer, and $37-52 for a main course. -On Christmas Eve, the restaurant was running a prefixe three course meal for $120 a person, with 7 appetizer options, 6 main choices and a trio of sweets for dessert. One also had the option to add on one of four caviar options, which obviously, we couldn't resist. Farmed Russian Amur River Beluga Caviar (1 oz for $120) Served with the most delicate little blinis and toasts, and all the traditional fixings (herbs, onion, sour cream, lemon, grated egg white and yolk), the caviar was deliciously buttery, addictively salty and offered a satisfying pop. Roasted Butternut Squash Soup Caramelized Apples, Cinnamon Foam A comforting, hearty soup. I loved the luxurious smooth texture with the sweet tender bits of caramelized apples and the bakery scented foam on top. Super comforting. Fresh Chilled Main Lobster Salad Mache, Pink Grapefruit Sections, Avocado, Carrot-Ginger Dressing A solid, classic salad, though, I did find that the acidity and bitterness of the grapefruit overwhelmed the delicate shellfish a bit. Maybe adding a little something with some natural sweetness could have helped balance all that citrus out. Roasted Crispy Christmas Duckling Red Cabbage, Cranberry Bread Dumpling, Bing Cherry Brandy Sauce Absolutely delicious. The duck was cooked perfectly, rendering succulent meat and a wickedly crispy skin that went beautifully with the boozy, fruity sauce. The dumpling (which was kind of like a holiday stuffing) was also super comforting and tasty. My only criticism would be that the red cabbage was a little too acidic. Don't get me wrong, I love acidic foods, but just breathing it in made me cough a bit. Sauteed Cervena Venison Chop and Sliced Venison Loin House Spaetzle, Celeriac Puree, Spiced White Wine Poached Lady Apple with Lingonberries, Red Cabbage, Brussels Sprouts, Sauce Veneur The venison was cooked to a beautifully tender consistency, while it's mild gaminess paired well with the sweet-tart fruit sauce and the nutty celeriac puree. I also loved the satisfying chew of the spatzle, which I think is a totally underappreciated starch. I would be happy with a dish like this any time of year. Trio of Christmas Favourites Lemon Raspberry Cream Buche de Noel; Apple, Cranberry and Apricot Crumble with Vanilla Ice Cream; Pecan Heath Bar Crunch Tart with White Chocolate Cocoa Anglaise Simple desserts but all quite tasty. The lemon raspberry jelly roll cake was ethereally light in juxtaposition with the dense and chewy nut bar. My favourite, however, was the simple crumble which featured a bright and fresh filling to juxtapose the creamy cool ice cream. Closing Remarks: -For 2 prefixe meals, 1 caviar course, 2 cocktails, a glass of wine, a half bottle, and a glass of dessert wine, the bill came to $700 including tax and tip. Was it worth it? Well considering I had many Michelin Star meals abroad for much less, I can't really say that it was. Mind you, we could have cut the cost in half had we avoided the pricy wine and caviar, but the caviar was probably our favourite part -In conclusion, Café L'Europe proved itself to be pretty much exactly what I had expected- old school simple food done well, served in a swanky yet comfortable atmosphere, by professional yet personable staff. What made it an experience was not so much the restaurant, but rather, the fellow patrons around us. If you enjoy a good people watching experience (especially during the holidays), and don't mind paying the upcharge for it, then Café L'Europe is the place for you.

Absolutely perfect. Cafe L'Europe is definitely one of my favorite restaurants to dine. Located in Palm Beach, it truly lives up to the lifestyle. Bruce and his team are wonderful to say the least. Fantastic service and to die for food. Always wrap up your exquisite dinner with the finest deserts. I recommend the Millionaire's Chocolate. Absolutely delicious. Bruce and the entire staff, keep it up! You set the standards for dining in Palm Beach.

If I could give 10 stars, I would!!! It was our wedding night and we were celebrating with our children a moment that will be with us forever. The customer service we received was unbelievable. I actually thought they had confused us with the Royal Family of England!! We received treatment that I've never experienced at a restaurant before. We were immediately seated in a private dining area (with reservation, naturally), and were served our drinks and made to feel very welcome. A dedicated server or two made sure our every request was fulfilled. The food was equally impressive. The ambiance was superb as well. At the end of our dinner, we were served dessert plates inscribed with "Congratulations" in chocolate. Our experience at Cafe L'Europe was certainly one of the highlights of our wedding day and I am delighted that they made it an unforgettable experience for us all.

A wonderful blend of social and private dining. The pianist was superb, with a seeing eye service dog beneath the piano, and he clearly had the attention everyone at the social end of the bistro. Unbeatable friendly ambiance, the food was stunning and the service impeccable, with a personal visit from the owner and chef, Mr Norbert.

We celebrated my girlfriend's birthday with dinner at cafe L'Europe tonight and had a five star experience. The service was beyond compare. From the maître D's greeting us to the service from the waiter, it was a first class experience. The crab stack and coconut shrimp appetizer was excellent. The veal milanese entree that my girlfriend had was the best we had ever tasted. The filet mignon with horse radish mashed potatoes were also off the charts. For desert we had the creme brûlée and the chocolate raspberry torte and we both savored every bite. To top it all off, the maitre D brought us some house chocolate rum balls as a special treat that were amazing. What a great experience! We can't wait to go back!

The service was impeccable! The atmosphere was so fantastic! The piano music in the background made the evening feel so New York (and I am a New Yorker). Dinner was so delicious from the Foie Gras to the Butternut Squash Ravioli's....just absolutely perfect! To be in such a beautiful restaurant and yet have such a relaxed feel can only make for a wonderful evening. The Maitre D is so delightful and he made us feel so welcome! This is a place to go and have a most memorable evening!! One of my favorites!

Great service and food. The best thing about Cafe L'Europe is the plates. Grandma's fanciest china cabinet has nothing on this place! Felt bad getting crumbs on these plates. Really liked how there were 4-5 special each had a wine paired with it. Also liked the piano man. It is not a large room but there is a grand piano with a very skilled piano player. He played a little mapleleaf rag, a very complicated and tough piece for piano players to learn. He covered some beatles, added a lot of extra notes, very impressive. A well behaved giant poodle sits under the piano wearing a stylish collar. This is definitely one of the top 5 places to eat in palm beach.

This is a treasure of Palm Beach. The owner, Norbert, has been in the kitchen ensuring the quality they are known for over a number of decades. The bar, run by Joy, is the quintessential local experience. If you haven't enjoyed this restaurant, you haven't experienced Palm Beach.

So horrible.. Omg I was there with a party of 6 people for my friends birthday.. We were all at the bar having drinks ((not just hanging out we were spending money)) well the bartender KERRI comes to us and says "I have customers that want to sit at the bar and eat so if you guys dont mind you have to move" ... Ummmm EXCUSE me???? What??? Did that really happen? We were already there, 6 people already sitting, spending money, and you tell us to move?... Yeah, real classy Kerri... Never going back

I came for Flavor of Palm Beach prefix menu. I was mislead from the options on their website and found a lack of variety for what I could choose from. For the appetizer, I had an option of mozzarella & tomatoes, beets and goat cheese, or some sort of salmon dish. I went for the beets which were absolutely tasteless. The three entree items were: Duck Ravioli, Snapper, or NY Strip Steak (Which they "were out of" after an hour of being open and replaced with veal). I asked for a vegetarian option and received 6 halves of brussels sprouts, about 6 green beans, a quarter of a pepper sliced into four pieces, and three halves of asparagus. Needless to say I was unimpressed. The trio dessert was fine, but I was also starving, so that might be why I ate the whole thing.

This restaurant is a great place to visit. The food is very good and the prices are not cheap. I have been going to this restaurant every time I visit Palm Beach. At times the service has not been as expected but mostly very good. I am writing this review and hope the owners have the opportunity to read this .My last visit to this restaurant shocked me. I was in the bathroom and observed the host Mike come out of the toilet without a sink inside it and walk right out of the restroom without washing his hands. I am not sure what the law in Florida is for employees to wash their hands before returning to work, but it would be unsanitary for them not to. I had read a few reports that some restaurant employees do not wash their hands before returning to work, but I never expected from this establishment. It is a shame I cannot return to my favorite place.

Had the NY Prime Sirloin and it was very flavorful and just the night portions. Sides asparagus, cipollini onions, vichy carrots, in peppercorn-brandy sauce were equally outstanding. Paired the meal with and fantastic Cakebread Cab wine.

Probably one of the most elegant and refined restaurants on the island, with unique old world charm and a cozy but not stuffy atmosphere. Tremendous attention to detail from the staff to the china and the silverware. Perfect setting to celebrate a special occasion. The menu is eclectic with a wide variety of choices and superb presentation. The piano player has a tremendous repertoire and he does take special requests. Dining at its finest but be prepared to shell out a pretty penny.

We left after having our reservation dissed and because the mis-manager Todd was rude and surly. And, btw, we live down the block and have been loyal customers for over 20 years.

What a unique little corner restaurant! As soon as you walk to the entrance, you know that you are in a special place. This little corner restaurant has an ambiance that not many restaurants can capture. It is the place to go for the 'special' moments; okay any 'moment' is a 'special moment'.. unique, romantic, intimate, lovely ~ The bar makes for a great start -- choose your occasion and GO! The menu offers excellent food with wonderful flavors ~ LOVE ~

I have been to Cafe L'Europe many times over the last 10 years. It is a beautiful restaurant, with an excellent reputation, in one of the most upscale communities in the world. My husband and I had dinner there tonight for our anniversary, anticipating a wonderfully served and deliciously prepared meal. We were very disappointed in many things. When I made the reservation, the person on the phone was extremely friendly and actually excited that we were celebrating our anniversary at L'Europe. He told me that we would be receiving, in honor of our anniversary, a specially prepared dessert presentation adorned not only with "Happy Anniversary" but with our names as well. A nice touch. Upon our arrival the maitre'd was extremely warm and welcoming. But after that, our experience went down hill. My minuscule cocktail arrived in a dirty glass, served with lemons that appeared to be weeks old. Its' replacement however was at least double the size of the original. I assume that was an apology for the dirty glass. Then I noticed that my place setting was incorrect - the forks and knives were reversed. Not a big deal one might say, except in a fine dining restaurant. Not what one would expect. The menu is laminated and looks like a pizzeria menu. The separate specials menu was paper clipped to the main menu. Again, not what one would expect in a fine dining establishment. My escargot - one of my most favorite appetizers - was inedible. It was swimming - and I mean SWIMMING - in oil. It had no taste and my second snail was, well, let's just say - shocking. I have been enjoying escargot for 40 years, in some of the finest restaurants in the world; Taillevent in Paris, The Four Seasons in Manhattan, etc., just to give a frame of reference. I returned it. My husband's Caesar Salad was delicious but way over-dressed. My Dover Sole, while edible, was tasteless and in my opinion NOT Dover Sole, but an imposter. More like a flounder or pompano. My husband was happy with his calf's liver and I agree it was delicious, although the fried onions were mushy, and more like steamed onions rather than fried, caramelized, onions. And after dinner, expecting this promised, "personalized" dessert presentation, we were surprised that it never arrived. The waiter was less than attentive and when we were ready to leave we couldn't even find him and had to ask another server to bring the bill. The bill finally arrived - with the escargot included. We brought that to the attention of the server, and while he was apologetic, he was clearly not attending to the details of our experience as demonstrated by his lack of attention, the delivery of my cocktail in a dirty glass, lemons that were weeks old, no special dessert presentation, and of course the inclusion of the escargot on the bill. We did we not leave a tip - which goes against my grain because I always tip, most of the time leaving a double or even triple tip when the service is good. I felt badly to do this to this server but in a restaurant of this caliber and reputation the servers hold a degree of responsibility for the guests' experience. There was no attention to detail on the part of our server. The food was very disappointing and although it is a beautifully appointed restaurant - the plates are exquisite - I will not be returning, which is a shame. I have always held L'Europe in high esteem but tonight's experience has destroyed my opinion of this restaurant.

Fantastic! The minute we walked in we were made to feel special. They went out of their way to find us the perfect table. Spoke with me at length to create the perfect vegetarian entree. Food was exceptional. Service was excellent.

Fresh flowers, live music, our waitress moved like a Ballerina; expectations are high before the food is even ordered. The dining room is split into two sections: the bistro and the main dining area. We sat in the Bistro and while not as formal, it was fun. There were so many "Palm Beachers" to see and enjoy it's worth dining there. The food did not disappoint. I had the ceasar salad , real anchovies, lemoney dressing and lots of regianno cheese-yum! Next- stone crab claws, presented in a little pyramid on ice and lemon wedges. I had to share becasue my colleagues were jealous. Then, sea bass on a bed of spring veggies. Great presentation, perfectly cooked. FInally, peanut butter pie for dessert. The best peanut butter dessert is 11 Maple street in Jensen Beach, Fl. This was a close second. If you like peanut butter, get this! If money is no object, eat here....often.

Definitely 5 stars!!! Gorgeous interior, something different than regular ordinary setting. Great place for a date (a bit odd for two co-workers), fresh roses, beautiful music and great food. On a special request I got a vegetarian Linguine and the opponent (kidding) got the steak we both enjoyed our food greatly, with a few drinks, bill was close to $250.XX. Well worth it! Forgot to mention the Bread basket is like no other. Great service as well.

Love this place. Appreciate the intimate atmosphere (when you reserve). Good for special occasions. The staff will is very friendly and helpful. It was last summer I was there with some friends and we had already reserved for a certain time... It was around 3 in the afternoon but we wanted to stroll around Palm Beach and have a few drinks before our reservation that was later on. We stopped by to kindly ask if it would be alright if we made it later then the reserved time and they had no issues or gave us any attitude about it. They were quite friendly and told us to take our time. But then again, it was summer, they probably didn't have many reservations anyways! Before we made it to Cafe L Europe, our afternoon was spent sipping on Bellini's at Taboo, shopping, and yet again having some more drinks at some place that I don't remember! Anyways, we made it to L Europe and the Food is a variety of all sorts of Tartar and Ahi, delicious Bisque's and Salads and many different Seafood items. They have a big wine list and a descent champagne list (if you prefer it)... Would definitely recommend it! Go there if you're sick of snooty waiters in other places that I won't mention.

Exquisitely excellent on all levels. The atmosphere is classic European. The service (Bar and Dining) are attentive and friendly. The food is outstanding. My wife and I dined recently to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were so well attended and never rushed. The meal was a sensory delight (presentation, flavor, aroma). And you must leave room for dessert; the pastry chef is brilliant. The experience is terrific and we highly recommend this restaurant.

This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants! The food is nothing short of amazing and the service is better then any other restaurant I have ever been to. Bruce does a great job of making you feel like you are in your own home. The piano layer is incredible and the wine list is superb.

Unmet expectations! Quartet of cold soup... ketchup, watery mayo, mustard and salsa. Then one hour and fifteen minutes until main course was served, which was good... Not great. Pretzel bread was my favorite thing at this place.

Dinners here certainly cater to an older (50+) crowd. The music and the dancing made for a very lively and festive atmosphere and the decor takes you back perhaps a bit too far for 2011, but the food is good enough. I had the sole which was tasty. Nothing was amazing and the service was patchy with long waits and a touch of unwarranted snobbery.

  • Jamison C.

A holiday dinner at Cafe l'Europe is as festive as it can be. With the most charming and festive decorations everywhere, it is hard to believe the food could be good, too. But it was! And the staff was adorable despite my very grumpy mother. Expensive, yes. Appropriately so. It is an old-fashioned, and very classy place.

If you are looking for an upscale place in Palm Beach this is the best.. It is very old world Palm Beach.. The service is amazing, while you are waiting they will pass around cheese and other tasty treats while at bar.. The have an amazing caviar list if you are looking for good caviar.. Also the who's who of palm beach come here.. Last time I was there sitting at the table to the left of me was Susan Lucci and her mother Phyllis Diller and the table to the right of me was John Voight.. I recommend this place even though it is a bit stuffy its a piece of Palm Beach History and the food is great..

Really, really good food. Very pricey, it cost over $600 for 2 of us. We did order really good wine and the Russian Osetra Malossol caviar (which I love). It is very old money Palm Beach. Exactly the type of clientele you would expect to be here. The menu follows suit. It is a classic menu with appetizers like Lobster Bisque and of course Crab Cakes and entrees like Baked Atlantic Salmon and Beef Tenderloin. It is all done very very well though. The restaurant is beautiful and all in all, this was a great dining experience and one I will definitely do again.

Ironic that at a french cafe, the waiter would hands-down recommend the Schnitzel, but it was delicious. The cheese platter was also fantastic. The atmosphere isn't too exciting, but staff is friendly and I believe this restaurant has worked its way to being a Palm Beach staple.

Came here for New Year's Eve dinner, which might have been the issue. Outside of a very busy scene (it took until we were nearly done our appetizers to get our wine, which was some good wine at that), the service was highly attentive and very professional. The food was out of this world, which it should have been for the price! Must haves included the foie gras and lobster salad. Scene was very formal and the clientele older.

the decor/ambiance was impeccable, classy, professional; staff and host were very friendly. it's quite expensive, so do not go if you're going to complain about pampering yourself with creme de la creme service and cuisine! we ordered a lovely bottle of wine that the waiter suggested (I forget name of it but my hubby picked it and it was superb), and I ordered the seafood over linguine. It was cooked with perfection! The fish (it had salmon, seabass and another type of fish) was cooked just right and still tasted delicious when I had it the next day! The pasta was very good but the texture was not like that of Sette Mezzo's perfect pasta (in NYC E70), but still delectable!!! I"m CRAVING for some of it, as i'm reviewing them now;) When we go back to palm beach again each year, this will be our regular restuarant for sure!!!

Have you got some money? Good. Now go to L'europe Cafe and spend some of it, because you won't find better food hardly anywhere. The food is lovely, really - we had real caviar there, for the first time. That was as for our first course, it came with smoked lox and a flute of rose each. Next, we shared the spiny lobster salad with spicy chile sauce. By this point we were done with the rose and moved on to a beautiful old bottle of bone-dry Alsatian Riesling (the Domaine St. Catherine), which I have always loved with fish, for a fairly reasonable $90. Next, we shared the tiny cold soup sampler, which included cream of cucumber, bing cherry, chicken curry and pineapple mango. Then, we had a beautiful Dover sole to share as our entree, and finally the dessert sampler. In addition to this, they made us a sculpture in chocolate that said "congratulations on your wedding", as we had just been married. I know it's silly to rave about bread, but this dude carrying around a tray of hot rolls, each different from the next, kept popping by every time he noticed we'd eaten the previous roll. It was so nice. He never said a word, just gestured. Expecting a bill of over $350 for the privilege, we were stunned to learn that they had given us a 40% discount "just because". The final damage, with tip, was about $275. A major pretty penny to be sure, but I have spent more on dinner and been much less satisfied. Yes, I'd say I'd recommend this place for being awesome.

Beautiful interior decor. almost as if sitting in a garden. Very quiet for the summer. The waiter was very accomadating and showed up at the right time to re-fill galsses and take away plates. The perfect french, romantic setting for couples. Fresh roses on the table and everywhere else. The bread basket was warm and delicious assorted mini sourdough, fresh pretzel, and olive bread. We ordered 2 bottles of red wine. For myself a glass of white wine which was great! The summer dining price fix menu was great. The salad was simple yet sweet. Ordered beef with pasta filled with butternut squash. Absolutely fine! Very tender beef and vegetables. The dessert was 3 mini desserts on a single platter- divine! Everyone was happy with what they ordered. It earns its 4 stars and another trip!!

Awesome meal and ambiance. I had the caviar pie which was a great app special. Beef tenderloin for my entrée was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Just had a filet at the forge in south beach and this was 10 xs better. My boyfriend had escargot app which he loved followed by a very well done veal Marsala. Pricy but well worth it

A superb dining place, elegant and refined, with chocolate desserts to die for. And no, friendly, not cold or snobbish. Note that they do not take Internet reservations.

Here it is! The pinnacle of Palm Beach restaurants. Most elegant and old fashion service. If you want hip this is not your place. Entertainment on weekends is sublime as is the food and Staff.
